2026 BUILDING FUND RAFFLE
The plan for this year's raffle is to continue the kitchen renovations with new cabinets and countertop along the west wall, which is the side closest to the dining room. These will match the cabinets and countertop at our recently replaced kitchen island. We are pleased to report that the cabinets and countertop order has been placed with delivery expected on or about September 18. Demolition of the existing cabinets will be performed by our own volunteer members with installation of the new cabinets and countertop performed by a professional crew. Based on the current schedule, we anticipate that the kitchen should be back in operation by the end of September. What follows is a preview of what this will look like.
This first image is an elevation view from inside the kitchen looking toward the dining room. As you can see, the pass-through from the kitchen to the dining room is being preserved. The door from the kitchen to the dining room is just to the left of these new cabinets.
This next view gives a better impression of what the cabinets and countertop will actually look like. The big unit at the right end is a pantry for storage of canned and boxed food goods. The wall cabinets on each side of the pass-through will have lights underneath and the base cabinets will all have pull-out drawers. All cabinets will feature all plywood construction (no particle board) with slow-close drawers and doors, same as we now have on the island. These are extra cost options but we have felt that the extra cost is well justified by the increased quality and ease of use.
This last image is the same as the previous one but it gives a look inside the pantry unit with the shelves built in to the doors, interior shelves that pivot out and additional shelving in the back of the unit. With this feature, everything should be readily visible and accessible without having some items hidden behind others. Also, please note the base cabinet at the left end which features a stack of drawers for the storage of our silverware.
